The Under-Achievers Guide to Very Small Business Opportunities or
Has Pearl Returned to the Harbour?

The Japanese now own the lion's share of the record/film business in America. … what does it mean? It means the end of inflated, outrageous budgets for un-aired, un-proven artists. It means that all development departments that were formed to develop departments to do studies on potential development will cease to exist. ft means that artists will no longer be signed to 'no win for the com-pany' contracts simply because their name is prestige - Streisand, Jackson, Diamond or Rogers. it means that CBS and MCA will return to the positions they held in the 60's and early 70's - jokes - or, as Webster defines it, 'something that's not taken seri-ously'.

Those were the times when CBS couldn't bribe a starving second-rate producer to bring them an act with money, whores, or a guaranteed entry to heaven. So Date Records was formed with Eddie Matthews at the helm...Peaches & Herb "Let's Fall In Love", "Close Your Eyes", "For Your Love", "United" and five other black, smaltzy crossover jewels stripped the clown mask from the face of CBS but the multi-coloured suit and the big shoes remained until dive Davis took a Gamble with Huff to spawn mega hit product, such as Harold Melvin, O'Jays, Billy Paul, Teddy Pendergrass at last a real record com-pany. Oh yes! dive also bought up all of the independent companies, acts and producers who thought a million dollars meant lifetime security and got them out of his way. Stax was supposedly going to be a major part of CBS to further this venture but by the time it was orchestrated it sounded like 'ask not for whom the Bell tolls...it tolls for thee', Al Bell that is, Another brick out of the wall.

There are special schools of extra high learning that have recently been established in the United States and boast a 100% Japanese student body. Here they are taught to speak perfect English, busi-ness the Wall Street and Madison Avenue way, in addition to the old Japanese busi-ness methods which will be interfaced with American business acumen. This spells unemployment for some of the dumbest sons-of-bitches ever to shit between two shoes. Iacocca didn't sell out Chrysler but formed joint ventures and partnerships with the Japanese and it's working like a charm.
Just about every country in the world has rigid laws that forbid foreigners from own-ing controlling interest in anything and in most instances a countryman has to be intricately involved in ownership for it to receive consideration for becoming an entity.

I… allow me to reemphasize … I, per-sonally, don't have a problem with the Japanese buying up the United States even though it's been documented that they por-tray blacks negatively and don't like us. Well, who on this side of the moon does? What else is new? The white man not only portrayed us wrong, he has betrayed us for so long like since 1619. The Japanese got in on the hate niggers trip late to the point that it's not much they can do to even raise our eyebrows. We've never owned or been in control of any multi-national corporations and I doubt if we were ever consid-ered. With the exception of Reginald F Lewis, who bought Beatrice Foods, a $1.8 billion dollar company that employs 21,000 people; John Johnson, publisher of Ebony Magazine and a half handful of other black entrepreneurs..... niggers aren't even in the running. Newsweek (11/3/90) termed it 'Black Business - M Endangered Dream'

On the entertainment front we will survive because the old adage is true. ..'We got rhythm' and it's going to always be in demand until somebody figures out how to bottle it or put it on a micro chip but it's still going to be an uphill battle.

After World War II, America funded Ja-pan, rebuilt Japan and introduced them to the latest of technologies. Now with that knowledge the Japanese are producing movies on the MCA backlot using high resolution cameras which will change the face of home videos and home TV viewing. Americans will now have to buy new televi-sions to view this high resolution process. From whom you ask? They've stated that they don't intend to make the same mistake they made with the beta format This time they are going to flood the market with pre-recorded videos at the right price. So you'll buy a movie for two dollars and a high resolution television set for two thousand dollars. Hell, I've just recently paid off my 50' Mitsubishi rear projector only to dis-cover that it's now obsolete.

I don't blame the Japanese, it's the white man's fault he's the spook who was sit-ting by the door this time. Hey, if the Opportunity presents itself I'll buy American Airlines, change the name to Soul Airways, serve only soul food, adapt a ham hock as the logo, show only 'Superfly', 'Amos 'n' Andy', 'Purple Rain' and 'Debbie Does Dal-las' (business class only), present only Jr Walker, Howlin' Wolf, Tyrone Davis, Sa-rah Vaughn and Amad Jamal as in-flight stereo choices and let all niggers wearing shoes fly half price. Meaning that if you have the yen for it and the yen to do it, the rules of the game change in your favour and everyone else either gets in, gets out or gets run over. As one Japanese put it:
'Now we're f***ing the cat, you (Americans) just hold his tail'.
